Burradon Community Primary School won a hard fought tournament at Kingston Park never losing along the way.
Burradon along with 25 other schools from Durham, Newcastle and North Tyneside were invited to take part in the Tackle Learning scheme organised by the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club. This scheme is designed to increase motivation for children in primary schools using the theme of rugby as a hook into a wide variety of curricular subjects.
Burradon entered 2 teams and both teams did extremely well and qualified from their league groups and came face to face in one of the semi finals. Team A beat team B by 2 tries to 1 in the semi final and went on to play Waverley school on the main pitch at Kingston Park during the half time interval of the Falcons v Bath.
The final was a tough game with the mixed team from Burradon coming up against an all male team from Waverley.
