The Rt Hon Ian LaveryMP, formerBurradonSchoolHeadsAlistairGilfillanandFredLyall,unveiled the restored Burradon Colliery Banner(“The Banner”) on 9th September 2016 which represented the culmination of a project that was nearly 20 years in development.

Restoration of the Scroll
In 1895, the miners of Burradon Colliery commissioned local artist Charles Dawson to create a memorial to the memory of the men and boys killed in the disaster at Burradon Colliery of 2nd March 1860.
