Juniors Win at Blackpool

Congratulations to Burradon Juniors Under 13’s Team.
We are delighted to announce that the Under 13’s won the Ian Mitchell Tournament at Blackpool, at Easter. Despite extremely strong competition, the team qualified as group winners and played Bedlington Juniors in the semi-finals. 

Although Bedlington Juniors play in the 2nd Division and proved determined opposition an Adam Sketherway strike was sufficient to send the team into the final to play against Yewdale Pegasus to the delight of the parents and supporters. 

The final was an extremely tense encounter and the final score was 0-0 and the match was to be settled with a penalty shoot-out. Goalkeeper Connor Ridley was to be the hero of the day with a vital penalty save and Michael McNamara scored the final spot kick to secure the team’s first trophy.
