PLACES FOR PEOPLE’S WELLBEING CENTRE

AT KIRKDALE COURT, BURRADON

2007 Jan - Places for People are delighted to announce the development of an exciting and innovative service at Kirkdale Court Sheltered Housing Scheme.

The Kirkdale Court, Wellbeing Centre will be located in a ground floor flat and will provide a one-stop shop for local people. There will be a wide range of services linked to the centre including Citizens Advice, health and counselling advice and an opticians service.

Places for People conducted extensive consultation with residents to identify the range of services required by local people. Discussions are also taking place with the Primary Care Trust regarding health promotion initiatives to improve the quality of life of local residents.

The project would not have been possible without the support of North Tyneside Council and in particular the generous grant from the Mayor’s Wellbeing Fund. Places for People are extremely proud of our partnership with North Tyneside Council and the benefits which it delivers to local people.

The contractor is due to commence the modification of the flat in the near future and it is envisaged that the new facility will be completed in March 2007.
